Unlike common misconceptions, gliding is not just about short flights around the airfield. In favourable conditions, gliders can reach impressive altitudes or cover extensive distances, all without the use of an engine. From Usk, pilots have completed flights exceeding 500 km, and the club's altitude record stands at over 30,000 feet.
